KARAMFILA SIDEROVA
(b. 1979, Bulgaria)

Based in Sofia, Karamfila Siderova is a figurative painter whose practice focuses on the clinical deconstruction of cultural archetypes. An alumna of the National Academy of Arts (NAA, 2006) with a specialization in classical arts (Master Degree) and Art Theory, she integrates academic tradition with ruthless conceptual analysis.

Following a decades of international presence in digital media, Siderova discontinued her technological practice. This refusal marks an evolutionary transition: technological expertise is discarded as an aesthetic pursuit and transformed into an analytical tool. Today, she treats the monumental physical canvas as the sole legitimate territory for exploring material trauma and historical thanatology.

In her seminal cycle THANATOLOGY, Siderova subjects the myths of power, innocence, and the social ego to surgical dissection. Her canvases operate as closed ecosystems where cognitive dissonance and classical mastery construct an unrelenting diagnosis of the contemporary condition.
